Overview of KaroroCAD Plugin

In constant development since 2017, KaroroCAD is a suite of tools for the design, development and tuning of inflatable kites and wings. Running either as a feature rich plugin for McNeel’s very popular Rhino3d (rhino3d.com) or as a basic design tool web app (KaroroCAD.online). The suite currently consists of three tools: KaroroKITE for development of modern bridled/inflatable surf kites including AI based bridle tuning. KaroroWING for hand held surf wings KaroroTUNE stand-alone tuning module for importing kite 3D models from other software and using our AI based bridle tuning Production proven - KaroroCAD suite is now in use by a number of well known kite/wing brands, with half a dozen factories having made kites from the output files and many popular products currently in the market. Cross Platform - In an industry first KaroroCAD tools are now available for Rhino for MacOS - running 100% native in this platform with no need for Windows/Parallels or similar virtual environment.

How does KaroroCAD.online work?

KaroroCAD tools are fully parametric with control over all aspects of the wing/kite with hundreds of easy to understand parameters. Once the design is complete it is a simple process to unroll/develop the flat patterns - including all markups and seam allowances. With the 2D manufacture files created, delivery requires you to enter your email address and click ‘Email 2D design file’. The file will be checked at our KaroroCAD HQ and forwarded on to you. This process can take up to 24hrs. The final delivery file will be in the industry standard DXF format, this can be opened and post processed in all common CAD software if required.
